West Indies lost only against Afghanistan in this tournament and that was their last Super 10 game while India have seen many ups and downs to reach this stage. Even though West Indies have played better cricket overall, we can still expect a close finish on the day.

India have got the services of Virat Kohli who is the 3rd highest run getter in the tournament so far having scored 184 runs in 4 matches so far. He has been their Mr. Dependable and he has responded to the team’s cause in pressure situations throughout the tournament.
He failed to deliver against New Zealand in the first match and India lost it. So, India will be depending majorly on him with the bat and will expect either of Dhawan, Sharma and Raina to come up with something big to join the party and give their side something to boast of.
If they have to win it against West Indies, they certainly have to come up with a big total on a batting wicket in Mumbai. So, it is yet to be seen how Indian batsmen respond to the challenge.
As for their bowling, they have been spot on right throughout the tournament. Pandya has been their leading wicket taker with 5 wickets in 4 matches so far but everybody else has chipped in with wonderful performances throughout the tournament. Jadeja and Yuvraj will play a key role in the semifinal as far as their bowling concerned.
West Indies would be cursing themselves as they lost to the minnows in their last match after an unbeaten run in first 3 matches of the tournament. That loss would certainly have shattered the confidence of their players but they will have to rise from the ashes if they have to defeat a determined Indian outfit and get a place in the final.
Chris Gayle will be their most threatening weapon on a batting wicket in Mumbai. Gayle won them their first match against England single-handedly but his bat has been quiet every since. So, the big man really has to come up with a big effort on the big day. Andre Fletcher played an unbeaten knock of 84 runs against Sri Lanka and he has not fired since then either. So, all West Indies need is their in-form players to fire in unison in the semifinal and take the attack to the Indian bowlers.
On the bowling front, they will rely on Badree, Russell, and Benn majorly. Benn has bowled economically throughout the tournament but he has to pick up wickets to turn things in favor of his side in the big game. Russell has been their leading wicket taker so far with 7 wickets in 4 matches and can be vital for West Indies’ chances to qualify for the final.
MS Dhoni has lead his side wonderfully to earn a place in the semifinals. He is just 2 wins away for making his side proud yet another time.
Darren Sammy is also leading West Indies wonderfully but couldn’t do much against Afghanistan in the last match. He hasn’t fired for quite some time now and it’s high time for him to come up with a blast.
India will have the extra advantage of playing in their home conditions and will be the most likely winners. However, West Indies are expected to give a good fight.
The wicket in Mumbai has been a batting paradise in the tournament and will be expected to offer runs once again. Weather forecast is ‘Clear’ with max 32° C.
