India have had their moments in this tournament and have seen quite a few ups and downs as they were involved in a last ball win against Bangladesh. However, captain cool, MS Dhoni, has been the real star for them and he has been the main hindrance in front of the opponents. Even though Virat has been their mainstay in the batting department but in the last match against Bangladesh nobody could really come up with a standout performance and there were handy contributions from all right from the top through middle.
Raina was the top scorer with 23-balls 30 and Kohli and Dhawan followed with 24 and 23 respectively. So, taking on Australia this time around, Indians will be expecting at least one big solid knock from either of their top 4 and if they manage to do so then they will be right on top against a side that impressed in the last match a lot.
The bowlers have been doing it pretty well for India right throughout the tournament. Ashwin, Jadeja, Pandya, Raina and Nehra were all amongst wickets in the last match and they will definitely play a vital role against Australia. Spinners will have to do a major job in restricting Australia to a minimal total at the end of the day.
India (probable) 1 Rohit Sharma, 2 Shikhar Dhawan, 3 Virat Kohli, 4 Suresh Raina, 5 Hardik Pandya, 6 MS Dhoni (capt & wk), 7 Yuvraj Singh, 8 Ravindra Jadeja, 9 R Ashwin, 10 Jasprit Bumrah, 11 Ashish Nehra

Australians thrashed the strong bowling line of Pakistan in the last match at this very venue and posted a mammoth of 193 on the board while batting first. They will be expected to come up with a similar effort again today if they have to make it to the semis. The good thing for them is that their captain came back to form in the last match and played his first big knock in the tournament getting an unbeaten 61 from 43 balls.
Shane Watson was also ecstatic with his brilliant 21-balls 44 and he also remained not out as well. These were certainly the positives that Australia will be carrying on with from the last match. Usman Khawaja has been their best bet at the top right through the tournament and he will be expected to give Indians a solid blow up there once again. So, if they manage to post a big target again, they can expect things turning in their favor for sure.
James Faulkner became the first Australian bowler to get a 5-wicket haul in T20Is as he picked up 5 for 27 against Pakistan. Zampa is bowling superbly as well and these two will definitely play a key role if Australia have to win it today.
Australia (possible) 1 Usman Khawaja, 2 Aaron Finch, 3 David Warner, 4 Steven Smith (capt), 5 Glenn Maxwell, 6 Shane Watson, 7 James Faulkner, 8 Peter Nevill (wk), 9 Adam Zampa, 10 John Hastings/Nathan Coulter-Nile, 11 Josh Hazlewood.
MS Dhoni’s calmness has been a silent weapon for India. Whether he plays a part with the bat or not, he’s certainly going to test Australians with his tactics.
- India have won the past five T20s between the sides, with Australia’s last win having come at the 2012 World T20 in Sri Lanka
- Against Pakistan, James Faulkner became the first Australian to claim a five-wicket haul in a T20 international
Smith got back to form with a brilliant 61* in last match and will be looking carry on with his form and the winning momentum as well.
- Match Predictions
We would go for India as favorites but it will be a closely fought battle for sure.
- Pitch/Weather Updates
