Once again a tremendous piece of cricket showed by Pakistani players with a perfect aggressive combination today against England in 1st Semi Final of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 at Cardiff. Pakistan won the toss and decided to field first. Sarfraz Ahmed, the Pakistani captain took the decision on the behalf of pitch conditions that have had a bowler friendly by the beginning, but with the passage of 1st innings end, the pitch had to turned batting friendly.
That was an aggressive start by the English openers, but Pakistani bowlers did an excellent job by breaking the partnership consisted of 34 runs when debutante Ruman Raees picked up the wicket of AD Hales. At that time Bairstow played a responsible innings of 43 runs, but the 2nd wicket partnership between Joe Root and captain Eoin Morgan was really helping the English team, but that for short time.
English skipper Eoin Morgan somehow tried to play a responsible innings, but the Pakistani bowlers resisted the opposition batsmen in an excellent, but aggressive way. Ben Stokes, the dangerous man tried to stay for long while, but he also could not score a boundary in his 10-over batting innings, the highest paid IPL player of 2017.
Hasan Ali and debutant Ruman Raees kept giving the break through to their team and yes, the Pakistani captain who rotated the ball and used the bowlers in pretty fine way. Hasan Ali did a great aggressive 10-over spell picking up 3 important wickets. Junaid Khan and Ruman Raees picked up two wickets each that really insisted England to play safe which resulted a tinny target at the end.
In order to chase down the target of 212 runs, Pakistani openers gave an aggressive and attacking start that diverted pressure on the opposition England which led them to the dangerous end. Pakistan were best and energetic in all departments including bowling, fielding and batting.
