Indian squad 2017 champions trophy officially has been announced by the Board of Control of Cricket India (BCCI) after the board decided to send the Indian national team for the mega event to started on 1st June, 2017 in England. Shami makes his return, Rohit is back in gang while BCCI has placed 5 pacers in the 15-Man India official squad for CT 2017.
Mohammad Shami and top order batsman Rohit Sharma make their comeback in the team after a long time in 15-Man team squad of India for champions trophy 2017. Rohit Sharma successfully makes his return to the team and he will be appearing in 1st international platform since October when he was pulled out of the during series against New Zealand. While Rohit has performed in the IPL magically scoring 183 runs in his 10 innings total.

On the counter side, Mohammad Shami made his appearance in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 semi final match last time, played in Australia. Shami is now in the bowling lineup along with Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav and Hardik Pandya. Although Mohammad Shami has not performed up to the mark in the ongoing IPL season by picking up only two wickets in total 5 matches, but he has miraclly won the faith of selectors.
Amit Mishra has been dropped from the squad along with KL Rahul besides making recovery from shoulder injury, while Ajinkya Rahane successfully makes his place in the team and got the serious attention of BCCI selectors.
India’ cricket team will be led by international premium batsman Virat Kohli. Shikhar Dhawan and MS Dhoni are also in the mentioned squad, while the best changing that BCCI has made is addition of Yuvraj Singh. Yuvraj is also back in India’ ODI team.
BCCI earlier was not willing to send the Indian team to take part in the upcoming event and that was caused due to the dispute over “revenue share” module of the “International Cricket Council”. After the dispute is over, BCCI made their announcement and also announced the official team squad 40 hours after the decision. Indian Cricket board also decided that they won’t send any legal notice into the matter.
India will play it’s 1st match against Pakistan on 4th June, Sri Lanka will India’s opponent in their 2nd game and India will face South Africa in their 3rd match on 11th June, 2017 at Kennington Oval, London. The team squad has been maintained according to the pitch conditions of England as BCCI selectors have added 5 pacers in the team.
