India fly to semi final of Cricket Champions Trophy 2017 for another time after beating South Africa in the 11th match played at The Oval on 11th June, 2017. India have shown that they are current champions for many reasons. India won the toss and decided to field first and the decision later proved the skipper perfect as the pitch conditions were supportive to bowlers in the beginning.
South Africa started in a dangerous way as the opening partnership of 76 runs divert pressure on the opposition, but that for a while only because the Indian seamers later diverted that pressure to “Chokers” by picking up the wicket quickly. Things were in favor of South Africa till 142 runs as they lost only twi wicket till to that, but later the middle order batting lineup collapsed brutally and that helped India a lot.
Quont de Kock was today highest run scorer as he scored 53 runs, Hashim Amla scored 35 runs and Faf du Plessis also scored 36 runs. Captain AB de Villiers once again failed to deliver and perform, he just played a tinny innings of 16 runs went back to the pavilion by giving his wicket run out. JP Duminy played an innings of 20 runs. 6 South African batsmen even could not enter in the double figures and that credit goes to Indian pacers who kept thrashing the pressure on Protease batting lineup.
The defending champion is still alive and finally get the position in semi final stage of Champions Trophy where this team will play against England on 14th June, 2017 at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. The 4th and last semi finalist of Champions Trophy will be derived from Group B among Pakistan or Sri Lanka, the one who will win in this match on Monday will be directly in the semi final.
