Both the sides had quite a contrasting run in the World T20I event this time around. New Zealand were quite convincing in their approach and they had quite a swift road down to the semis as they won all their pool matches in the Super 10 round. At times, their batsmen were quite demolishing and took the attack to the opponent and at other times their bowlers did a pretty good job to restrict the strong batting side of the opponent from getting to a smallish total.

But now it’s a big game ahead of them and no matter how convincing their run has been in this tournament so far, they will have to come up with the best both in batting and bowling to get the better of England. The batsmen who are expected to fire in this game are Martin Guptill, Kane Williamson and Colin Munro. Even though they have not played their best cricket consistently in this tournament but all of them have had their times when they played astonishingly great innings. So, they will be expected to bring out their best in the semifinal.

As for their bowling, their spinners have been at their best. Both Mitchell Santner and Ish Sodhi have provided them with crucial wickets at right moments and they are also amongst the leading wicket takers in the tournament having picked 9 and 8 wickets respectively. They will be the real challenge for England to tackle and if the English batsmen see them off it will be easy for them to score runs off the other bowlers.
England have had rough days in this tournament but they still managed to win 3 games out of 4 in the Super 10 round. And their chase against the South Africans was the best of the lot. They will be expecting another similar effort from their batsmen with the likes of Joe Root, Moeen Ali, Alex Hales and Jos Buttler in the game against New Zealand where a couple of good performances can pave their way through to the final of the tournament. Joe Root is the 4th leading run scorer in the tournament with 168 runs in 4 matches and his highest was 83 which he scored against South Africa in the big run chase.
England will expect Adil Rashid to provide them with the crucial breakthroughs and cause troubles for the New Zealand batsmen who are not too good at playing spin. Chris Jordan and David Willey have also picked up wickets and can play a vital role in the semifinal if England have to win it.
No matter how well England have played, our prediction says New Zealand will be winning it and will go into the Final.
